Refined | #1 Blue-Collar Animated Series

Refined ; an animated series comically depicting the lives of modern day refinery workers. Created by Boyd Animation.

How Refined Was Born

Cartoon Creation

Drawing, writing, animating, and making music is what Matt enjoys. All of these things are a part of what goes into his cartoon creation. Refined Episode #1 was Matt’s first project ever animated.

Video cameras aren’t allowed inside the gates of refineries, so making a cartoon to give people a small idea of what we all go through made sense. “Being able to put out a cartoon that can make fellow construction workers’ days a little bit more enjoyable is enough reason to keep the episodes coming.” says Matt Boyd.

The Future Hands

Finishing up Episode 20, Boyd Animation has no plans to stop any time soon. From time to time they preform as a full band, playing the music from Refined. When it comes to the music, Brandon Boyd, Alex Buckner, and Dylan Smith join Matt Boyd together as The Coon Dogs. They’re currently working on a full length Coon Dogs album that will be finished and released April, 2019 so make sure you keep a lookout for upcoming show dates at boydanimation.com

I hope you never stop making episodes of Refined. This is the coolest and the realist animated yet realistic work atmosphere of a working mans job site. I know it reflects of a welders scene with all the journeymen playing their parts. But I am in the asphalt business. This is the same kind of crazy but yet funny situations that go on with my everyday life at work. You sir have it down to a “T” !!! Great work you keep going and I’ll always keep looking forward to the next scene. Bad ass my friend !! Pease ✌🏽

    Gentlemen,
I recognize about every character in this cartoon from my memories of working Maintenance and Green Field mechanical construction in the downstream sector along the Gulf Coast . I have toiled beside and listened to this “Bullshit” all of my working life. Congratulations to you Matt and please keep up the good work , It makes a lot of us laugh !
